The Universal Love Foundation, an organization dedicated to the single parents celebrated its seventh years of successful operation by hosting a Luncheon at the beautiful Westlake Village Four Seasons Hotel on December 2nd at 10:00 am.

The luncheon activities included an excellent boutique with some of the best local merchants. The luncheon started with a short video of the Ribbon cutting ceremonies at the House of Hope, Greif and Loss Center. Manzar Amini, the founder of the Universal Love Foundation gave a short welcome speech thanking all supporters. She said “When a loved one dies, the bereaved is thrust into a challenging journey navigating everything from denial, anger and depression to loneliness, yearning and guilt. The grief process is tough for anyone, but for those without adequate resources it can be simply overwhelming. Too often, individuals feel unsupported, misunderstood, helpless and hopeless. But now there is hope now – there is House of Hope. In late 2007, we opened House of Hope Grief and Loss Center in Agoura Hills. House of Hope offers a lifeline for grieving adults, children and families from Ventura to Los Angeles. Free, weekly support groups are lead by trained grief facilitators who offer the bereaved compassionate counseling and vital validation.”

The ULF Parent of Distinction was then awarded to Gloria Armond. The award is presented to honor and support the efforts of single parents who have demonstrated the highest qualities of character and integrity, serving as positive role models, while making significant contributions to society through their parental, professional and/or community service efforts and activities.

The participants were then entertained by the Brazilian vocalist and guitarist, Teka. Teka’s music which combines sensual rhythms of Brazil and jazz set the tone for the festive Brazilian Dancers. The room came alive with the entrance of the dancers. The attendees then had the opportunity to play Deal or No Deal for the raffle items.

The Universal Love Foundation would like to thank the local companies and individuals that donated items to the silent auction and advertised in the event’s program. Debbie Buxbaum, the silent auction chair stated “the generosity of all the local merchants and businesses is what makes this event a success”. She also wanted to extend a special thanks to the Four Seasons Hotel for hosting a truly special day.
